Otonagai was created by creative duo Liz DeSilva and Derrick Baca, two self-proclaimed Kidults with a passion for fandom, nostalgia, and collectible culture.

The name Otonagai is inspired by the phenomenon of adults collecting toys and treasures traditionally associated with childhood. To us, it's a celebration of creativity, curiosity, and the excitement of finding that next special piece for your collection.

Derrick Baca is the Chief Merchandising & Innovation Officer at Whatever! Company, and the Co-Founder of Whatever! Makes You Happy, with nearly three decades of leadership experience in licensing, merchandising, and retail strategy. Formerly Senior Vice President of Creative, Innovation and Vision of Loungefly, EVP of Licensing at Hybrid Apparel and a key merchant at Hot Topic, Derrick has partnered with the world’s leading studios, record labels, and brands to bring exclusive, trend-driven products to market. His career is defined by building fan-first experiences, scaling businesses, and setting industry trends that connect pop culture with consumers worldwide. Liz DeSilva is the Chief Creative Officer at Whatever! Company and the Co-Founder of Whatever! Makes You Happy. She is seasoned creative director and designer renowned for her innovative work in licensed merchandise and collectible accessories. Formerly Senior Vice President of Creative, Innovation and Vision of Loungefly, VP of Creative at Hybrid Apparel and head designer at multiple apparel companies, Liz is known for her vibrant aesthetic and ability to create outside the confines of style guides. Her approach merges nostalgia, trend, and fan culture.
